Meet the Team

Scott Thompson is Founder & CEO at Venyu, where he is responsible for executive management and day-to-day operations at the company. In 1989, he founded NTG (now known as Venyu) as a consultancy specializing in the design, development, and maintenance of networks throughout Louisiana. Scott envisioned opportunities overlooked by others in the field and addressed them with innovative systems and support resulting in tremendous growth and a national presence. By the year 2000, NTG had designed, constructed, and opened the very first commercial datacenter in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Prior to founding NTG, Scott was an engineer at Phillips Medical Systems.  Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Memphis State University.

Chris Davis is Chief Financial Officer at Venyu, where he is responsible for the company’s financial strategy. He brings to this role over 13 years of successful leadership experience ranging from rapidly growing start-up companies to large privately held companies. Prior to Venyu, he served as the CFO for AmeriVault. Joining AmeriVault in 2008, he was the finance leader of the executive team who brought the company through its acquisition and successful integration by Venyu in 2009. At AmeriVault, Chris was responsible for finance and administration including financial strategy and due diligence related to all M&A and Partnership activities. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Nicholls College and a master’s degree in finance from Nicholls College.

Gerry Boudreaux leads the technology vision and systems strategy for Venyu as Chief Technology Officer as well as corporate compliance and technical employee development. Prior to being named CTO, Gerry oversaw the corporate network and virtualization infrastructure for Venyu’s datacenters and the team of network and systems engineers that support them. Gerry’s 20+ years in the IT industry include stops at US Robotics, EATEL (a local ILEC), and most-recently Cox Communications, where he was manager of Data and Transport Engineering for their Greater Louisiana market. Gerry holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from LSU.

Tommy Curb is the Executive Vice President of Business Development and General Counsel at Venyu, where he leads business development initiatives (strategic partnerships and licensing opportunities) that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy and leads the day-to-day legal affairs of the company. Tommy was formerly Assistant General Counsel with Anthelio Healthcare Solutions. Before his time with Anthelio, Tommy spent 12 years with Verizon Communications, where he held several different positions within Verizon Communications’ Public Policy & External Affairs and Marketing organizations. Tommy holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tarleton State University, a master’s degree in marketing from the University of Dallas and a JD from Texas Wesleyan School of Law.

Brian Vandegrift is EVP of Sales and Innovation at Venyu, where he leads and manages the sales teams, which includes training, mentoring and coaching the company’s sales representatives.  Brian has over 15 years in technology consulting which allows him the ability to play an integral role in the product development process for Venyu. With certifications from Microsoft, Citrix, and VMware Brian has the expertise necessary to architect data protection, disaster recovery, and hosting solutions for just about every challenging scenario a business could face. Prior to joining Venyu, Brian worked for PPI in Baton Rouge, where he was the area General Manager responsible for sales and product delivery.  Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rhodes College.

Matt Wallace is the Vice President of Marketing, where he is responsible for marketing, brand management, advertising, research & analytics, developing and coordinating key messages about products, corporate business and partnerships. He is also involved in the company's product develpment strategy. In 2008 Matt joined Venyu from Wallace Standard, where he was co-founder of the marketing and design firm serving business to business technology, and consumer retail. Prior to Wallace Standard, Matt did a tour of duty in an internet marketing startup and spearheaded the web and product development of an online content management system tool. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University.
