  • Testing generators and making sure they are able to run indefinitely if needed.

In the Hours Before Landfall . . .

When danger is near and you’re wondering what to do next, here’s our quick action plan that’ll make the most of your time:

  • Take pictures of any equipment that may be damaged in the upcoming storm, such as servers, computers, call center equipment, etc.
  • Protect important documents and information, such as by sealing them in waterproof containers and by making copies.
  • Identify essential personnel needed for the business to operate, and decide who needs to stay on site, if any.
  • Communicate to all employees what their roles are and what the expectations are for attendance, communications, etc.
  • Activate a remote office plan for offsite operations & telecommuting employees.
  • Backup your critical data & systems to prevent data loss and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure you have critical contact info, especially for the following:
    • Small Business Administration (SBA): 1-800-359-2227
    • FEMA Tele-registration hotline: 1-800-462-9029
    • Insurance agent’s contact information
